Wilson told Airdrie's official website: "I'm happy to be here.

"I've had a good first training session and met all the boys...so yes, it's been good.

"I'm buzzing to be here and looking forward to getting going.

"I had a good season last season and I just want to build on that.

"I don't particularly set any targets. I just want to play as many games as I can and hopefully the goals come along as well.

"The club finished 4th last year so I think as a collective we want to finish a bit higher and I want to play my part in that and we will see what happens."

Airdrie chief Rhys McCabe was pleased to secure the signature of the in-demand striker.

“We’ve been monitoring Ben for a large period of time. We knew he’d had interest from some big clubs in England and Scotland, so to get it over the line and get him in is credit to the guys who have put the hard work in," he added.

“He’s a natural finisher, his numbers speak for themselves in terms of what he brings. He has really clever movement and that predatory instinct in the box.

“He should thrive in our system with the creativity that we’re looking to play with.”

Meanwhile, Dungannon Swifts have announced the arrival of 20-year-old goalkeeper Patrick Solís Grogan.

The shot stopper has agreed terms at Stangmore Park after an impressive stint at Coagh United and will re-unite with Swifts boss Rodney McAree after previously working with him at Glentoran.

Grogan will provide competition between the sticks with current number one Declan Dunne.
