The Ulster Unionist Party should have the guts to say Doug Beattie is wrong

Whilst I am not a member of the Edwin Poots fan club he was totally correct in cutting the boots off Doug Beattie in Stormont on Wednesday.

Does Doug not learn?

Constant negative references to women – has no one in the Ulster Unionist Party the guts to say ‘hold on that’s wrong and we don’t support that kind of comment’. Nesbitt, Allen and the rest of the UUP looked unimpressed when their leader disgraced himself and his party again.

He has been apologising to anyone who will listen but the harm is done (again). But will anything change? Doubt it, who will replace him?

They might not be the absolute liability that Beattie has become but will they be able to stop the downward spiral of the party?
