A letter from Robert Wilson:

Jack, my grandson left today to represent Northern Ireland at the 2022 Blackball Billiard World Championships in Albi, South of France .

He is 13 years of age, and playing in the U15 section and his uncle is playing in the Men’s section .

Currently Jack is the All Ireland Champion in the U12 and U15 age groups. In fact he reached the quarter final in the U18s.

He was captain last season of Coleraine Youths U13 who won The Belfast Cup, Plate section.

This season his U14 side took part in the Super Cup NI and won the Silver Salver.

He is travelling to France with 30 Northern Ireland players right through to Masters.

I must thank all the NIPA and local officials who have encouraged him and players of his own age in his sporting journey to the stage where he is now, representing his country.

So you can see, from a very proud Granda, have a safe journey and have a ball (along with your NI team), Jack .

Robert Wilson, Coleraine
