Diversions were yesterday put in place for motorists after the discovery of a suspicious object on the Ballyquinn Road outside Dungiven in Co Londonderry.

At that stage a PSNI spokesman said the road is closed at the junctions with the Camnish Road and the Curragh Road this morning (Monday 19th April).

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative main routes for their journey.
