Revealed: 15 Northern Ireland medical suppliers ‘set to grow’ in the next year

Businesses working in the sale and wholesale of medical equipment and medicines are key contributors to the Northern Irish economy with the industry also serving as a major employer.

Insider, the UK’s national B2B media company, has taken a look at which firms from the sector look set for growth.

Using parameters set by Insider, predictive software from Red Flag Alert has identified firms working in the wholesale and sale of medical products which are 'likely' or 'very likely' to grow over the next 12 months.

The list required a minimum of two staff and is based on financial documentation filed in the past two years.

At the head of the list is Haemoband Surgical Ltd, the Belfast business behind a multi-band ligator designed to be the "most clinically efficient, easy to use, and cost effective device for treating haemorrhoids".

A Cardiac Services (NI) division based in Belfast placed Dublin-headquartered medical device distributor Uniphar Medtech UK in second place ahead of Northern Hospital Supplies Ltd, a supplier of hospital equipment and supplies in Newtownards.

Hospital Services Ltd (HSL), a Belfast, Dublin and East Midlands-based distributor of medical devices and AV products, was in fourth, with Liam Bradley Ltd, which trades as Bradley's Pharmacy, in fifth.
