Curbing liberties under guise of public safety an abuse of power

The entire population under virtual house arrest.

Government ministers arbitrarily removing the most basic of human rights (such as the right to earn a living, the right to public worship, the right to breathe fresh air).

The police force and shopkeepers being used to enforce this brutal regime. Elected representatives bypassed and ignored. Those who don’t comply singled out. Sounds like North Korea?

In actual fact this is Northern Ireland in 2021.

The NI Executive should be held to account for this exceedingly gross abuse of power. All Executive ministers should be brought before a public inquiry and a full investigation carried out into the legality of their actions since March 2020.

There should be no hiding place for ministers who have acted like dictators, they should face the full rigour of the law.

The pretence of acting in the interests of public safety is not a legitimate reason to strip away the most basic of civil liberties we have enjoyed for centuries.
