Remains of tragic Dean Dobbin brought home after shock holiday death in Gran Canaria by Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust
A post on Seamus Fitzsimons Funeral Directors says that Mr Dobbin, 33, died on March 18, 2024 ‘suddenly abroad’.
The notice adds that Dean is the ‘loving father to Aodhan, dearly beloved son of David and Annemarie, much loved brother of Mark (Tara and family), David (Amy and family) and loving partner of Tara’.

Hide AdIt adds that he ‘will be reposing at his mothers residence from Wednesday 27th March 2024’ and there will be a ‘cremation service later’.
The acknowledgement further asks for ‘no flowers’ but any donations to go to the Kevin Bell trust kbrtrust.com/donations
Earlier it emerged at the time of his death, Mr Dobbin had been found in an apartment building in the popular resort of Puerto Rico.
It has been reported that Mr Dobbin suffered a head injury from a blow or a fall.

Hide AdAnd it was later reported in a local newspaper in Gran Canaria that his death is being treated as accidental.
Reports from the Spanish island had also revealed that a post mortem concluded that Mr Dobbin fell inside the room and suffered a severe blow to the head as a result of the fall.
According to local news outlet La Provincia, local police believe the death was caused by an accidental fall and no other person was involved in his death.
Online there has been an outpouring of grief for the Co Down man.

Hide AdIn an emotional post Davy Dobbin says: “My bro my everything.. most beautiful heart you will ever of met.... I love you brother”.
Meanwhile another post from Tara Mc Mechan, posted publicly, says: “My king my angel, you fixed me, you made me trust again, after everything you listened you helped and never judged, you made me a better person, my heart is broken, my one and only forever!! My Dean my love forever”.
Earlier SDLP South Down MLA Colin McGrath also offered his condolences to Mr Dobbin’s family and friends.
The south Down MLA said: “I’d like to offer my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the young man from Downpatrick who has tragically been found dead in Gran Canaria.

"It is never easy to lose a loved one, but to see a young life cut short in such circumstances is unimaginable.

"I hope that he can be returned to Downpatrick as soon as possible so his family can lay him to rest.
